First Franklin Financial Services and Ten Thousand Villages to host community benefit Tallahassee, FL – Ten Thousand Villages in Market Square and First Franklin Financial, is inviting the Tallahassee & Big Bend community to come out and shop for the holidays to benefit Children’s Home Society from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2009

“The purchase of a unique handcrafted gift from Ten Thousand Villages will not only support Children’s Home Society, but will improve the livelihoods of artisans in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East,” said Sherry Kelly, Ten Thousand Villages store manager. “A portion of the event’s proceeds will benefit Children’s Home Society.

Children’s Home Society (CHS) North Central Division provides counseling and care for unwed mothers and places hundreds of children in permanent adoptive homes in the Tallahassee area. Over the decades, CHS has expanded its services to provide not only adoption related services but also emergency shelter care, evaluation, counseling and treatment for abused and neglected children. CHS also provides services for infants and toddlers with disabilities and intensive in home services that are designed to strengthen and preserve families. In 2009 alone, CHS touched the lives of 4,499 children and families in the Big Bend area.
